East Sussex Highways has issued details of the various phases of improvements to Hailsham Town Centre along with expected dates of completion.
The document highlights the works in George Street are ‘going well’ and is nearing completion. The next phase of the works to reconstruct the road is now underway and will be completed on 12th May.
Improvement works to Vicarge Lane and Vicarge Road will commence on Monday 15th May. Due to the nature of the work and the need to maintain access, the work will be done in five phases, each with its own traffic management requirements.
Details of the five seperate phases are yet to be published, but East Sussex Highways suggest two of them will involve night-time working, which means workers will be on-site between the hours of 19:00 and 05:00am.
The scheme is scheduled for completion on Friday 11th August 2017. Residents with any questions regarding the works are being encouraged to contact Chris Richards, the on-scene public liason officer.
