Herstmonceux Windmill lit up to mark Armistice day

At dusk on Remembrance Sunday, visitors to Windmill Hill were treated to an impressive projection to commemorate 100 years since the end of World War One.

The display on the Windmill was visible to the east and south of Windmill Hill and was part of the programme of commemorative events arranged in Herstmonceux and Wartling.

A spokesperson form the Windmill Hill Windmill Trust said “Lighting up the windmill with poppies is our way of marking the sacrifice made by local men and women during World War One”.

The projection was sponsored by QED Productions Ltd of Hertfordshire.
