Learn how to protect your business at special event

Online crime is costing UK businesses £66 billion a year. There has been a 21% increase in this sort of crime since 2016, so businesses would be foolish not to take adequate precautions.

The next meeting of the Wealden Business Network will feature Detective Constable Dan Maund, Police Cyber Security Advisor for South East Regional Organised Crime Unit. He will be advising on how to make your business as safe as possible from online attacks.

The meeting, at the East Sussex National Hotel, will take place on Tuesday 20 November.  Registration is from 5.30pm, buffet tea at 6pm and main event starts at 6.30pm.

“We are holding this event on a Tuesday evening. We anticipate this will be a business friendly time,” said Councillor Roy Galley, Wealden Cabinet member for Economic Development.

“We are hoping that representatives from as many local businesses as possible will be able to attend. Cybercrime is a fast growing, international problem, with new scams constantly being attempted. The latest advice from the Regional Organised Crime Unit will prove invaluable to everyone.”

Following the talk by DC Dan Maund, which begins at 6.30pm, there will be a Question and Answer session. This will be followed by a period for business networking.  The event finishes at 8pm. The cost, which includes a finger buffet tea, is £11 per person.

You can book your place on the 20 November Wealden Business Network event on the Eventbrite website here.
