Two key planning applications were given the green light last week by Wealden Councillors.
A medical centre which will combine the patients from Bridgeside and Hailsham Medical Group has been approved for land opposite Reef Way.
The centre will increase patient capacity from 16,000 to more than 25,000 according to officials and will incorporate a pharmacy for prescriptions.
The final decision on the application which is part of a larger residential development was made during the meeting on Thursday.
Also, plans for a new Primary School planned for land east of Park Road in Hailsham was also given the go-ahead at the meeting.
