Red Box recyling scheme racks up £13k for charity

Haulaway, the Hailsham firm which operates the popular red box recycling scheme in the town has announced the amount raised for charity so far.

Around a thousand boxes are now being filled with more than 300 tonnes of newspapers, cardboard, magazines and paper since the scheme started just eighteen months ago.

This has resulted in Haulaway donating just under £13,000 to St. Wilfrid’s Hospice in Eastbourne.

The news comes just a few weeks after the company announced it is to rapidly expand its Red Box scheme so that every household in Hailsham can benefit from a box, in turn, raising many more thousands for charity.

Lisa Kemp from Haulaway commented; “Please help us to spread the word to anyone who has been waiting for a box or who you think might be interested in having one as every box emptied is more money going towards the wonderful efforts of everyone at St Wilfrid’s Hospice.”
