Residents are being urged to check on vulnerable neighbours as prolonged cold weather and snow hits the area this week.
A number of yellow and amber weather warnings have been issued by the Met Office for East Sussex and Kent for snowfall, which could cause disruption to roads, power and public transport services.
Daytime temperatures will struggle to reach zero throughout the week, and it’s expected the snowfall will increase late Monday afternoon, overnight into Tuesday.
An estimated 5-10 centimetres could fall in places according to the Met Office.
From Wednesday, warnings continue for the rest of the week which is also mixed with a warning for wind, which could result in blizzard conditions.
During snowfall residents should only travel if it’s absolutely essential and keep an eye on elderly and sick people.
