Hailsham driver injured in Eastbourne collision

Police are seeking witnesses to a collision in Eastbourne in which a motorcyclist sustained serious injuries.

At 8.30pm on Sunday (30 December) emergency services were called to the collision in Cross Levels Way, Eastbourne, between a white Skoda Citigo being driven westbound by a 17-year-old girl from Hailsham, and a red Honda 125cc motorcycle being ridden eastbound by a 23-year-old Eastbourne man. 

The motorcyclist was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries. 

The driver of the Skoda suffered minor injuries and was treated at the Conquest Hospital in Hastings.

The road was closed for two hours while officers from East Sussex Roads Policing Unit examined the scene.
