Post Office pledges to re-establish services

Since the closing of Hailsham’s Post Office on Christmas Eve, officials have stated they are working hard to re-open it.

The town has been left without counter services which was located in the old Piper’s Newsagents in the High Street, following the resignation of the previous postmaster.

A Post Office spokesperson told Hailsham.News: “We understand how important Post Office services are to communities, and would like to reassure our customers that we are working hard to restore services to Hailsham.”

“We are pleased to say that we have an interested applicant to re-open the branch, and we are currently progressing their application. While we cannot give further details at this time, we will of course keep the community and stakeholders updated.”

It was recently reported that Hailsham Town Council has submitted an application to take over the franchise and plans to move the Post Office to another location in the High Street, if it’s successful.
